Configuring Plex
Below are some steps to get the most out of the Plex app. For example how to
make sure things are streaming at the best quality possible. How to get ride of
none Mac Media content (eg. Tidel, webshows, podcasts etc.)
Setting Default streaming quality
For some reason Plex defaults all streams to 720p while that might be good if
you have slow internet most would prefer to get the full quality that is on
offer. So to make sure you get the best video quality availble just select the
player(s) you are using and follow the intructions or video walkthrough.
Bring up the side menu by pushing left on your remote
Naviagte to settings at the bottum of the list
Navigate to the 'Video Quality' section
Select 'Remote Streaming' and change quality to Maximum
Just show Mac Media content
You may find that when you first sign into Plex there is content that doesn't
belong to Mac Media. This is Plex's own library of free movie which sounds all
well and good but can get in the way of the curated content of Mac Media. Below
are guides on how to removed these un-needed media sources and just leave/show
Mac Media content.
